One of my passengers apparently had stepped in gum before mounting the shotgun seat. What a mess! Someone at work suggested peanut butter, but that sounds like a bigger mess.
I remembered the "ice trick" from elementary school - (ice down the gum, makes it brittle and you can chip it out of little Susie's hair) I updated the trick for the computer age - I used a can of "dust-off", which is basically pressurized gas in a can designed to blow dust out of keyboards and other computer nether regions. But here is the trick - Turn the can upside down and spray the liquid on the gum. It is much, much colder than ice, and so the gum gets really brittle, and stays that way longer. Then use a screwdriver or back of a kitchen knife to crack/scrape it away. Clean as a whistle now! One word of caution - DO NOT SPRAY THE LIQUID ON YOUR SKIN!!!!! IT WILL GIVE YOU FROSTBITE! You can easily get first and second degree skin burns with only brief contact with the liquid, so keep your hands clear of the target and don't spray towards you or anyone else. If you are careful and take your time, you will be rid of the offending gum with no stains or injuries
