I just got an envelope from the DMV today, with a nice certificate.

"No liens" hahaha!

Yep, I am now the owner of a 2003 Mustang mach 1. :bcl:  :bna

Congrats Hawk! Now you can start modding it. J/K I don't see many Machs on the road anymore, so I guess people have either wrecked or stored them. Besides my '55 chevy (totaled in 1973), the '03 Mach1 is the only car I've not wanted to trade in for a newer model. It's pushing 5 years since we bought it and whenever I walk into the garage and see it, I think to myself, "That could be the most beautiful Mustang that Ford ever sold to the general public". I may be biased, but there is something about the '03-'04 Mach that is unique to me. Again, congratulations on owning something special.

NIIIICCCE  I have only 8 payments left, and at 0% I'm just gonna take the whole 8 months. Sure will be nice not to have to pay any more for a 5 months of evenings and weekends car :bcl:
Congrats Hawkster!!

Congrats, man!

Had an epiphany about trn years back when I discovered the PMT function in excel; analyzed the bill stack and realized almost half of my income went to banks in the form of interest payments. We paid off all the plastic, then the cars. The net effect was like giving the household a $20,000 raise!

Don't be a modern-day slave (literally) to EZ monthly payments; if you don't have the $$ for something - don't buy it!

Ten years later, I can pay cash for just about anything I want - including a Ford GT - but the cash basis discipline has taught the difference between want and need. Don't need much - so I'm no longer in debt.

Mach was paid off a few months after purchase; was the last car any interest payments were made on. Nothing new really interests me, and if I can post up a low 12/high 11, then it will still be ahead of 99.9 percent of the 2008 production vehicles.

Generally, I agree with ya. I coulda paid cash for it, but the money was cheap (then), and I wanted to keep a cash reserve for the unknown. I paid almost half down, and got a loan for 4 yrs for a few %.

The only dept I have now is mortgage. I keep the cards paid off every month, and don't buy the latest TV or gadget. In the immortal words of Clint E. - "A man's got to know his limitations".

It is a great feeling to OWN a car and not have any payments. I paid my Mach off in February this year. I agree about cutting out as much intrest as possible, I paid off my house several years early, and the Mach five months early. Saved a fair amount of money by cutting the length of the payments down.
