Good news, bad news...
Well, I had not talked about it much because I wasn't sure of I was even going to be accepted...but the good news is I found out yesterday that I was indeed accepted for a Government Civilian position. The bad news, it's at FT Bragg, NC. I have not recieved the "Official" call, just a call as a heads up from someone I know at the new unit. I have to report by Sept, so after long talks with Windy we have decided the sooner the better. The kids are out of school June 5th...so we will probably leave that weekend. If I time it right, I can hit the RMMR in Co on the way through in June and be in NC by July and hit Myrtle Beach, SC for Mustang Week. So, I guess I'm coming back to the East Coast

Hey first off I have to say Good Luck for you and congratulations! Since my Military Retirenment in 05 I have been applying for and trying to get onto Ft. Benning as a Government Civilian Employee, with my many military talents to include Instructor Status for the last 8 years on a very elite committee, and a secret security clearance I figured I would get hired on, nope, nota, zilch and that is even with the 10 point veterans preference included.
So as I stated congratulations as it is hard to get hired on with the government.

Oh yeah. I know what that is. I signed up for the autocross some years back but never made it up there. I really want to go some time. I hope I can go this year.

Congratz on the new job. I'm retiring effective 1 Aug and still have found nothing in the Atlanta area. Been shooting for those coveted GS jobs but it's not what you know it's.....!
Problem here is I can't relocate until my oldest graduates and goes to jai.....I mean college!
