I started my car about two weeks ago and had the ABS warning light stay on and my traction control light defaulted to on (it could not be turned ON). When I drove up at the dealership the lights were still on; they would not come up again for the tech. The computer was hooked up and a road test was performed. A bad rt front speed sensor was detected in the fault history but was testing fine.
Speed forward a week, the same thing happened except I left it running for the tech. The same sensor was dead and replaced. The problem was not fixed, an ABS module was ordered. I was telling the tech that the problem occurred after the car was rained on and he confirmed the 60 pin connector was very damp (wet) when it was disconnected. The seal and connector appeared fine, it was probably loose or improperly installed.
Speed forward to yesterday, module replaced problem fixed.
I hope I'm the Lone Ranger on this one. Anyone else?
had the same problem right of the barn door didn't get50k on her yet and the light came on. dealer fixed next day don't know the real story, dealer mechs on long island kind of shaddie in my opinion. got a better one for you so heads up. on my first road trip to VA beach 1000k miles on her the brake light came on once more.guys at beach ford( the best dealer on the planet) checked it out to be a slow leak in the abs valve or some such break gizmo. they could not get the part in time for my departure (the next day) but sure did try for me.so they topped the fluid gave me break fluid and sent the part to a local dealer on the island.
if ever in VA. beach drive by the dealer its worth the look mack1s, cobras, roush mustangs abound and really great people.

What a coincidence! I'm from Chesapeake, VA and I'm very familiar with that dealership. In 1965 my dad was about to buy a Mustang from Beach Ford; my mom decided we needed a 4 door. They compromised, we got a Galaxie 500, 352 4 barrel with a cruise-o-matic. I drove that same car to college and bracket raced it for several years after that. I never forgot that my dad wanted a Mustang. In December when my lease was up on my car (4dr Grand Prix GTP) I remembered and got the Mach.
Strongly agree about Beach Ford, I went by the last time we went back home, didn't drive the M1 though. I saw my first Orange M1, it was 1 of 4. They had about 3 Cobras, 6 Roush Mustangs, and a lone Lightning (if you don't count the used cars). I miss the area but I'm active duty Army and don't really have a home town anymore.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll check real good for leaks (I have a good mechanic at the dealership).

I'm From VA Bch, and Beach Ford is the best. Bought my Mach there 2 weeks ago! This makes my 3rd ford ever, and all 3 were bought there. They have a top notch service dept.! That's the only thing that brings me back, and yes they do keep a good inv. of SVT's and MAchs on the lot. DTMach1, was it a red SVT Focus? It was on the show room floor when I bought my Mach. Never owned a Pony before, and I'm lovin It! Always wanted a Mach 1 as a kid, but when your 9 and 10, it's hard to do.

I had the exact same problem. I still haven't gotten it fixed yet since its my only car. Uh, next week i'll fix it...
I was up in Tahoe, driving to Heavenly, with cables on my car for the snow, and I went around a turn, and the cables got all chewed up (I went through 3 sets of cables that winter) so i pulled over, yanked the cables out of the wells, and drove up for a day of snowboarding, but then the ABS light and traction light came on. No idea why. I'll get it fixed in a week or two, I have a feeling its nothing serious.
