My Mach seems to have developed a water leak in the driver floor area. I first noticed it a couple weeks ago when after a heavy rain the carpet was soaked. I did my best to dry it up and now it has leaked again after it rained last night. Has any body else had this problem with their Stang? I'm a little sad now, since it's my first problem with the car.

It's not every time it rains, I've had the car since Oct '03 and it's been through a couple winters now and some punishing summertime thunderstorms. I guess it's time to take her in. You guys think this is a simple fix? :(

Can you tell where the water is coming in?

I can't say for sure there are no obvious drip marks down the door or anything.

Some 05's had a leak problem. But in the 2+ years I've been on Mach boards, yours is the first Mach I recall with a wet floor after a rain (except, of course, for the obvious windows left rolled down).

Years ago I had an '84 Audi. After replacing a busted windshield, the drivers carpet got wet whenever it rained. Finally traced the leak to a small imperfection in the seal at the base of the windshield on the driver's side. Easy to find with running water from a garden hose.

So many possibilities. I'm betting it's something simple. Let us know what you find.

I'd try and get someone to help.. get a hose and sit in the car and see if ya can't see where the water is coming in. It would be a something to tell the dealer...

I found evidence of same in mine... right after I had to test the ABS cause of some cellphone yakker in a minivan! :lmao:

Seriously- Check to make sure all the grommets that go through the firewall are secured- like for the wiring and such. Try laying under the dash and watching while someone runs the water hose over the windshield...

Good idea, I'll try it out this weekend. I'd much rather see if I can find the problem myself then dropping it at the dealer and let them start ripping into it. Though I am quasi-friends with one of the shop supervisors where I bought the car. :hrs:
