ok.. so everyday when i get out of work when i start my mach it seems to take a lot more effort then any other times when i start it.. of coarse i know theres the whole sitting outside in the cold all night effect.. but were talking a solid 3 seconds of ignition before it kicks on. any other time i start it its always 1 sec or less.. ive got just under 20k on it.. i always let it warm up before driving, i dont abuse it on the roads.. (mostly keep it under 3500 rpms) during any spirited accelleration. and maybe a few times a month it will see redline. so is this normal? it doesnt feel normal.. any avenues i should be exploring here? oh and the oil is changed like clockwork every 2800.

I guess it would never hurt to check the battery if it is taking that long to start. Maybe a weak charge???
After it does start though, does it act oddly or is it fine?

the thing that makes me think its not the battery is that any other time.. other then when i get off work.. is it starts like the day i bought it.. ... after it starts in the am it runs friggin great.. its actually my favorite time to drive it because the air is freezing and for whatever reason the car just feels a whole hell of a lot more solid..

A fuel pump could also be the culprit. Sometimes they leak down after they sit awhile. When you first start it cold try this, turn the key to the run position and wait until the buzzing noise from the rear stops, then start it. If it fires right up, then there is your problem.

This will likely work...give it a try EVERY time you start the Mach: Turn the key on until the bells stop dinging....then turn the car on. Does something with the computer worked 100% with my Mach.

It's not the computer, when you turn the key the fuel pump runs until the system is at operating pressure.

Yup, it primes the fuel system. I know it's not the same with your cars, but I do the same thing in my '71. It starts like a gem year round no problems.!

I know what you are talking about the same thing happens to mine. I do wait for the fuel pump to stop buzzing and it still takes a little longer to start, and when it does it won't rev as high. Is it possible i am getting a bad mixture of gas/air at startup? This only happens the first start of the day, after that everything is fine. It used to start perfect everytime this just started happening recently. Weather is not an issue in my case I am in Miami.
Sometimes my car starts hesitantly. Its almost like just a couple cylinders fire at first then the rest pick up about a half second after. It sounds kinda neat...but I dont think its right.

Same problem here. It usually happens when I just killed the engine (like to go inside the store).
