Most bang for the buck i would do first is gears(4;10 street-4:30 strip) if better acceleration is what your looking for and you don't care about top end, and don't have do a lot of highway driving everyday. Some might disagree.
That plastic thing is a resonator. Removing it and plugging it up will clean up the engine compartment but will offer no perf. gains i am aware of. You can go to the hardware store and by a rubber stopper (forget the size) or order a Billet one from Kustommachine.com like i did for about 20 bucks.

A Drop in K&N filter and a good cat back sys. I went with Borla Stingers. Is a good place to start and a good aftermarket shifter as well the stock one is a POS.

cool, thanks. I think i might keep the stock shifter though,as for ive heard directly from tremec that there are internal stops and there is no reason to install an aftermarket shifter-I only have 500 miles on and havent banged gears yet, i might change my mind on the shifter if it feels to sloppy. My dad has a hurst and that thing is impossible to shift into 3rd sometimes,any1 from the york area, hit me up!!

Once you try shifting it hard youll dump the pos factory shifter. Yea there are stops thats not the piont its the rubber isolators in the thing that make it feel like mush and cause missed shifts. If you adj the stops on the aftermaket one right its no problem. These are nothing like shifters of old if thats what dads hurst is.Just my .02:shft
P.S I installed my Borlas K&N and shifter with 48 miles on mine.

I don't know what hurst shifter you have installed but mine shifts real nice, the problem with the stock unit is not the stops, but it is the vague feel it has.

the stops do not matter in the shifter-the 3650 has internal stops, maybe its just peace of mind for some people? Tremec told me that teh aftermarket stops can bend your shift forks.

Like I said I did not change the shifter for the stops, you do not have to install the aftermarket stops if you don't want them. The problem with the stock shifter is that it feels like rubber. BTW the stuff about stops bending forks sounds like B.S., thats what the stops are protecting.

Go with 4.10's and exhaust to start. Nice gains in power and performance!!!
