1st time racing....YUCK!!!

OK, I finally went to the 1/8 mile strip tonight. $20 gets you as many passes as you can stand. My first pass ever was such a RUSH! Man, that was fun!! I didn't even notice that my T/C was still on (duuuuuh!). 2nd pass and I just could not hook up. 3rd pass, no traction and 3rd gear lockout. 4th and final pass and I got my first somewhat decent 60' time, but blew the shift AGAIN. I've come to 2 conclusions - 1: I NEED MORE LAUNCH PRACTICE! 2: Triax shifter is the next mod after the exhaust (Magnapacks on order, be in Mon, in the car Tues). Times below:

When I lived out by you guys, we raced at Carlsbad Raceway, but it was open only a few hours per week.

It's nice to hear about racing and car shows while's all hibernating here in the Great White North. (It's no so great here but there's certainly plenty of white)

Isn't there a new track up near Ramona?

Depending on where you're at in Orange County, Carlsbad 1/4 mile about 1.5 hours from LA, and in Ramona/Lakeside opened this year an 1/8th mile track. Near downtown San Diego they have 1/8th mile races 4 wide last Friday of the month.:cool:
