Went to Bradenton Motorsports Park Saturday Night with our 03 Mach 1 and our 03 Cobra. On my first pass with the Mach I laid down a 1.981 60' time on stock rubber but then the rust kicked in and I missed 2nd gear and then missed 3rd, man a couple years away from the track and I was rustyer than a mid 60's Chrysler in the northern states. I was never able to repeat that 60' time, as it was in the mid 40's and the sun was never out all day long. But then I got down to work and ran a string of 13.30's at 106 mph with 60' times in the 2.01 range. I tried numerous launch rpms, clutch slippage but the best seemed to be when i brought the revs up to about 3000 RPM and slipped the clutch. the bigger problem was 2nd gear, if i powershifted it would just flame the tires into a major fishtale, so my better ET's were all granny shifting and feathering the throttle in second. Also my better ET's and speeds I ran the car through the traps in third gear. In all I made 7 pass's with the Mach and my best was.
2.013- 60'
5.771-330'
8.693-1/8 mi
84.48-MPH
11.203-1000'
13.320-1/4 mi
106.37-MPh
Not Bad for the first time out with 2300 mi on the car. Never had a chance to throw the nitto's on it because I was also working my 03 Cobra that I was able to snag a 11.68@ 121.75 w/1.88 60'. made 8 pass's in the Cobra. We had alot of fun and we are looking forward to going back out with both of our Stangs.

crap ...apperantly i cant edit my own post...anyway i was trying to find out if the mach came in an auto...reason is i raced my friends blue one and he got a car on me out of the hole and kept it there to about 100 where he just started inching away...this car tonight i hit hard twice and pulled what seemed to me to be too hard and once form 60 again i would have thought at that speed it would have been more his advantage...now if there's an auto this might explain alot...
BTW im looking for some good weather before i make the 100 mile trip to bradenton...40's and dry...

No I can't make it for the NMRA or Fun Ford events. I am not really into competitive racing anymore. When I lived up in the Chicago area I used to race a '88 5.0 GT in the shootouts and had a lot of fun, but those days are long gone. I take my cars to the track these days to see what they run and thats about it. I used to spend alot of time at drag strips like Great Lakes, Byron, Cordova, and a bunch of others. Beef that rear end up and go have some fun, good luck...
