Welcome to the site, I see you are a new member here.

One of the cool features of this site is the 1/4 mile time database. Click HERE (http://www.mach-1.org/vbulletin/fullqtrmilelist.php) and then click the button at the bottom of that page w/o entering any search words- the list will display in order of quickest to slowest, and it will also tell you if the car is modded or not (based on the owner's input)

Please- no comments about me being the slowest car on this site so far... :thud:

I'm sure the straight axle is better to launch with than the IRS:shft :D Trac-Loc is a real pain when you forget to turn it off before a run.. Me uh no way have I Ever forgot to turn off my Trac Control and turn my fire breathin beast into a one wheel spinnin weeney.:p

Your MPH is good for 11's easy James. I've gone 11's with "only" 110 MPH.

I don't just mean this web sites list because times are a little slow in last months 5.0 Mustang (sept),They had 2 Mach1's running 12.20's in the factory stock class. What are we missing dose anyone no these people or their engine tuners so I can get some good speed info????My Mach1 only has 700miles so I am not ready for nox or a supercharger.

The MACH's are still pretty new, but some folks are really going into the mods with the MACH's just like they did with the 03 Cobras when they 1st came out. I'd wait a while, if I had it to do over again, my best mods without destroying my warranty were the air filter and the cat back exhaust 38rwhp gain. There's a guy who did a KB SC on his 03 Cobra, lotsa mods, bigger injectors etc. put his ride in the looow 10's. He just bought a brand new MACH I and is doing R&D with a bunch of guys on the East Coast where he's located. Hang in there.:hrs: Sorry if I didn't directly answer your original question, but IMO the MACH I in stock trim wont go 12.2 in the quarter. The cars you're refering to going those times in a "stock class" more than likely have mods which are allowed to be done to the car and still keep it's stock class rating. j.m.o.

For Factory Stock (F/S) you are allowed shorty headers, 2 1/2" H or X on or off road, 2 1/2" muffles and 3" tips, stock heads, stock intake 70mm tb, 80mm mass air, cold air intake, "stock" internals, a chip or PMS and I think thats about it. I was gonna make my car into a F/S car but to win in that class it takes a 11.9 now I think. It has gone from factory stock to "factory stock". The fastest guys spend so much $$ to be on the top it aint funny. They have special forged cranks, low tension piston rings blah blah blah.

I under stand the rules of factory stock,I just want to know who to talk to.(with good info),so Ican start racing this mach1 and not look stupid.running 13.0 when every body else is running low 12.'s and high 11.'s

Your best bet is to go to the track and talk with the F/S racers or go to the message board on the NMRA site and ask questions.

So what do you guys think of the 2 factory stock racers being DQ'd because of their headers?

Both of those cars were tuned by PHP...

Black88LX50
09-22-2003, 06:53 PM
They were? Where they using those mid length headers? If so then the should be DQed cuz rules state that only shorty headers as in the must conect in the factory location.

I think it was in the back of one of the recent mags - happened at the houston event. There was quite an internet "discussion" about this on some of the boards.

They could have run the event anyway (1 event leeway) but packed up and left anyway.

just thought i would drop a line about the factory stock Machs

12.01@ 113.65 my best run mods underdrive pullies(PHP),
intake spacer(PHP),JBA 1 3/4 headers, bassani x nocats,
dynomax cat back,cai (PHP),chip (PHP),tokicos 5ways,
spring kit(PHP), 4:30 gear

stock as delivered motor valve covers or intake have never
been off yes stock TB, MA, stock internals

add one driver that can drive like he stole it !!!!!( mid 1.6 60ft)

and on the header debate without a big discussion goes like
this

the rule reads connects at factory" header " location not
" manifold " location . obviously rules written for the push rod
cars so then is header and manifold the same thing????

show me where the factory header connection is on a
modular car ????

so i can interchange manifold with header in the rules anywhere?

so then i can have a stock intake " header " what ever that
is .. the headers were put on not to cheat as some have said
but for NMRA too realize there needs to be some clarity in the
rules for modulars too be successful too

yes i did return too class with JBAs and finish the year
THIRD in points behind some internally modified pushrod
cars and in front some others

thanks jeff

ps on slicks this car would run 11s

Jeff - I hope you don't think I was bashing you - I wasn't at all. I think it took a lot of balls to pack up and leave, not many people stand up for what they believe in any more.

I saw you guys run and talked to you at Gateway this year, and to say I am impressed is an understatement.

Good Luck!

no i dont take things on the net as serious as some people

just thought i would let you guys know i was available for questions and answers would follow. I love the Machs
only wish NMRA could see the other side but i WILL have
a purpose built one for them next year to push the issue

thanks JEFF

ps my knowledge is here for your guys help

i would like them all to run high 11s

and on the not running issue in Texas if anyone protested
we would be DQ not that anyone would until i qualified
first like at WFC 6 then there would be a problem RIGHT !

they did protest at WFC and were deemed legal no connection

What type of cat back system did you get that power with? I just bought a new '03 Mach 1 the other night and would like to do the cat back asap. I bought the K&N filter tonight and installed it.

i have been accused of that but when it is in ink in a
national magazine its hard to be a poser.

what they dont realize that we would still offer them
advice and be their friend and they dont even have to have a MACH 1

thanks JEFF :D

I'm confused - are you saying you picked-up 38 rwhp with those parts on an '03 Mach 1? Or you picked-up 38 rwhp with those parts on an '03 Cobra?

why is your 88' Mustang on the 1/4 mi. board? This is a Mach 1 site. You should be on Corral.net posting your 1/4 mi 12.95 run on NOS. That's where I talk anout my '87 LX 5.0 that ran a 10.12@129mph & 1.42 60 ft on Saturday. I personally 'am not going to post that time on this site's 1/4 mi. board! I do appreciate you being a Mach 1 fan, but comparing your 88 or even my 87' LX is like comparing apples to oranges. Imagine comparing an 87 or 88 LX 5.0 with an '03 Mach-1... The old fox body is not even in the ballpark as a matter of fact, not even of the same planet, galaxy, and so on, and so on..........etc...........
I've owned 6 5.0's. As a matter of fact, my 03' Mach would have smoked my stock '01 Lightning until I modded the HELL out of it to run 11.9's. My stock '01 Lightning ran 13.79@101mph.(Bone dry stock). I still want to run with a C5 Vette on the street. I keep looking and can't seem to find one / or be lucky enough to be in the next lane with one at a light. Opppps, sorry for getting off the original subject. I guess my point is that I wouldn't put your car on the Mach-1 1/4 mi. site. Not trying to grind ya', but I'm sure others feel the exact same way. It's cool to have you on the site posting but to have your 88' LX on the Mach-1 1/4mi. postings is too much.
