I am trying to locate a Mfg. for a set of Wheels for Road Racing. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am looking for 17 X 9.5 wheels to be used with 275/40R17 Toyo RA-1's
1: Light weight.
2: Cost reasonable but not cheap.
3: Looks good but not show wheels.
I would appreciate any suggestions. :shft

Have you looked at the wheels that Aaron sells on M1R? They look good and are lightweight.

I can't remeber the wheels we use to use for drag raceing but they where light and costly. You might try swap meets and car shows for a used set at a good price.

I know a 275 is not a good match for you on a 17x9, but for others on a budget... MM sells 17x9 Konig Villians (kindof a r58 knockoff) at $169/ea ...fit the most popular calipers and at 21lbs, they significantly lower the unsprung weight...good for those bumpy canyon carvin cruises. Not sure if they meet everyones eye for good taste...but they are a practical solution.
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/konig.asp Tach can probably hook you up with a set PDQ
http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/0410mm_max/
Steeda sells a schnazzy version for the konigs under the steeda logo (typical of them)... http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/wheels/wheels.htm a little pricier
the original 1995 Cobra 17x9 M-1007-R58 aka R58s are another popular choice at about 22lbs/ea. They go for about $150 a pop. Look similar to the villians:

Thanks guys for the imput!
Tach 9, I thought I would get a lead from you as well. Man those Fikse Classic Mach V are really tuff wheels. HUM thinking!! :hehe:
Music Man I saw a set of wheels with the Bronze finish but I am not sure where maybe BBS. Look at the Tire Rack and see if they are there. They were not light weight so I really did not pay much attention.

tach 9 unless there is a GB and it is a "real steal", I guess at $764.00 a wheel :thud: I will just have to get a Fikse sticker for the time being. :)
Just think tach, some folks think the M1R wheels are expensive but they are almost 1/3 the cost of Fikse.

Thats funny that you mention those wheels. My buddy just got a set of Fikse FM-10 wheels on his Supra TT. I really liked them and thought about getting the same set for my mach. I almost had heart failure when i saw the price tag. Almost 4k for 18s

I like the Mach V and what about the Profil 13? They are wheels for the serious!!! The way they are made and stressed is awsome. But for those of us that are not dealers or have sponsers, well we can only drewel.

Farmboy, true they are expensive, but they are just like any quality 3 piece wheel that is used for racing purposes...these are race wheels that can be run on thestreet....they are light too..17 x 10 = 12lbs...IIRC...
Just think how unique they'll look on the Mach..Yeah I'm a idiot Farmboy :D

They look really cool (they say about $400/wheel at site), but I'd literally like to see a (road race) track record with those (thread topic)...Not much webbing there at all, unlike Tach9's M1R ACIII knock-offs *pun*....I bet their lite though. :o

hey farmboy: how the heck are ya? I'm on "bidness" in New Orleans this week and you might want to look at the LT-III's that Team3 makes. They are designed after the famous Mini-Lites that used to be on race cars in the 60's. Light weight and look good. I don't know what their pricing is though.
See Ya from Toto Land (actually, I'm stuffing myself with shrimp and oysters cause we have a shortage of ocean in Kansas)

Hey Toto!! How is the French Quarter? How do you like the moon walk? If you get a chance go up to the lake and there are some great sea food restaurants on the water. Then take a drive to the marina and drive out on the point. I really think New Orleans has the best food. Now, go get some crawfish and you will think you are in Heaven.
If you like jazz, you are in one of the best places to listen to some great jazz.
I bet the weather is a lot better than back in Kansas!
Yes I have looked at the LT-III wheels but I am really thinking about another set of M1R or if I can sell enough cattle, the Fikse Profil 13. The Fikse Profile 13 really are super wheels.
Have fun man! You are in a party town!!!!

Farmboy: I'd sure like to see the LT-III's "live and in person", but the Fikse's are awesome products.
Having a great time: Met Shaker3 the other night. Went for oysters at a place by the lake in his Mach. He just finished installing the Borla catback and it sounds wonderful. Guess that's my next move. See Ya. French Quarter is still hoppin'
