I read that the stock headers are port matched to the cylinder heads.
Does this mean that the don't really need to be swapped out for aftermarket headers, because the flow very well allready, or are they :turd2: and need to be part of a total exhaust system upgrade.
Any suggestions on exhaust upgrades would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hey Rad...the stock cast iron exhaust manifolds seem to work pretty well. Going to Bassani Mid lengths for example, for some are only netting 5RWHP or so...so the stockers do flow well up to a point of HP...
Asking for mods upgrade suggestions here is like asking an alchoholic if he wants a  ..LOL..!!!! Depends on what your goals are...w=once ya figure that out..the doors pretty wide open...
Most seem to concentrate on making HP/T...and not on putting that power to the ground...Here are some of the most popular engine mods:
1.> CAT Back Exhaust System
2.> CAI
3.> H or X Pipe
4.> Diablo Predator
Good suspension mods:
1.> Springs
2.> Performance Struts/Shocks
3.> Performance "Good" tires
4.> LCA's
5.> Full Length Sub Frame Conectors
6.> Panhard Bar
7.> Caster Camber Plates
The list can be very long as these are just a few...How fast do ya want to go and how deep are your pockets as they say :D

Tach, as usual, is full of good advice. For an exhaust system, IMHO, Bassani Xs w/ a Bassani or Borla CB sounds downright mean. I had a full Bassani system from LFP in my Mach, and a Borla CB in my T/A. They're a bit on the pricey side, but it was worth the extra money IMO. My neighbor's Mach has a flowmaster CB which gives out kind of a deep hollow sound that I don't like as much as mine, but a lot of guys like it. Go to http://www.ninosport.com/store/Mustang/category_Mustang_Exhaust.htm for some sound clips.

Tach9,
Thanks for the wish list of parts
I'll tell you my bone stock mach-1 feels like its allready riding on rails,
I've pushed it into corners and never even heard a sound like its breaking loose.
Its hard to imagine it could only get better withe the parts listed above.
Quick question,
I could of sworn I read somewhere the Mach-1's allready come with subframe connectrors installed from the factory, is that true?
Oneradstang
yeah but they arn't anthing thing to brag about (not full length). there are much better systems to add.

One...like Music says...the Mach's do come with sub frame connectors, but they are pretty minimal. the bolts holding them on are only 10mm...how strong can that be? Go with Maximum Motorsports Full Lenght Sub Frame Connectors....awesome!!!

Trust me, you will feel a major difference. I finally swapped out the junk KYB's for some Tokico's with my H&R supersports.
If there is a feeling above "handles like it's on rails" that where I am at now. The rear doesn't have the washy feeling like it did before. I can't wait to see if Santa is bringing me some LCA's, but I'm hoping for Hawk brake pads.
