Just had to post this kill as it a matter of bragging rights. On Friday i was zooming my way home after a short work day. when all of the sudden a red GTO gets next to me and it was onnnnn. We started at about 60 coming down the I 10 overpass onto 410 it was adrivers battle all the way and I managed to stay in front all the way to 3009 where I reside. he was close all the way but could never get past me. Needless to say I have never taken it that far over the speed limit for that long of a run, but I could not let $#@!^
Pontiac get the besdt of me. :shft

yea gtos are a drivers race i made a new gto owner upset he still had dealer tags on his car and we jumped on 3 times closest he ever got to me was hanging at my door handel the other 2 times he was at my rear 1\4 pannel
we talked after words and he said " salesman told me the mach 1 was a bunch of hype that there was no way one could hang with the gto"
he then told me "wish i had found a mach befor i bough the gto but couldnt find one "
he let me sit in his gto damn the interior is sweet i love his seats and the suade accents the interior of the gto puts us to shame imo but a pretty pig is still just a pig

LOL, That's why the GTO is 400hps this year...they couldn't keep up with us :lmao: Hype!? I have 310 horsepower of hype for ye!!!!!! That's what the guys gets for listening to a salesman and not doing his research...knucklehead
I just spent the past 2 months in SA for a military course at Ft Sam, was kinda suprised I wasn't "pressured" into any speed limit changes on the 10 or 35. I did get lots of looks and smiles and thumbs up...damn my baby is sweet
I have a car show tomorrow, last of the season. Supposed to be nice here though, so look forward to it :hehe: , maybe I can make it 3 for 3 in car show wins :allhail:

I REALLY wish people would respect our wishes not to post "street kills" here. TAKE IT TO THE DRAGSTRIP. You didn't prove anything anyway racing somebody on a roll.
I raced a 2004 GTO this weekend ATTHE DRAGSTRIP and it went 13.21@105. All it had was a CAI kit and Nitto drag radials. Since I went 13.007 with the same trim, I think it was a fair race and I won.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that GLD really hooks...the times i've seen Goats at the track here, they had no traction...not that we were getting traction either...but I blame most of their problems on that darned IRS.

I was trying to get Tony over there to post some sort of disclaimer, since in their 1/4 mile section it clearly states "as long as it's legal"...or to simply get rid of that wording since it's not enforced...
Of all the sites I visit, that claim not to condone street racing, this is the only one that enforces it, I appreciate that.
Thank you mods and admins

Some people don't like it but oh well. They can always go somewhere else.
Mustangworks.com has a whole forum where you can post your "kills"

Hey Ju0...I guess one of the explainations is that it is the policy of the www.mach-1.org to not post about street racing etc. There are few limitations on this forum, but that is one of them and we all respect that!!!
The owner (Greg), of this site has graciously supplied us with a means to communicate pasionately about the Mach 1...inexchange he asks very little...and not posting about street racing is one of those things he asks....

As a Moderator; they should/could control these "kills" postings real quick . . . all ya gotta do is "kill" these authors from posting for 30 days or so... And, I don't believe Mach1 Registry condones posting 'kills' either...

Ok my bad then. I seem to recall awhile back some dude got REALLY twisted out of shape when we scolded him for his street racing story, and he said something about "going back to the REG where they don't violate your free speech rights" or something like that...
We do violate them here. :D

This is a great forum without alot of smack talk. Attached is a Mach 1 kill i did at the tender age of 16, thinking (or not), that a Gapp & Rousch 351 cleveland was a whole lot faster than the local PD. All good except the nut on the wheel. I hit a brick subdivision marker which kept my a** out of a flood plain. Many years later (almost 20) I regret selling that '73, (after replacing the quarter), I realize that, yes, I love to
row through the gears and not be able to lean forward at will, but there is a time & a place for fun .Endangering the loved ones of those you do not know on public streets
is an an invitation for disaster.

You know, if you ask me that is a real piss poor attidtude. Greg does his best to not let this site become a pile of trash and I say he does a damn good job. Greg! :allhail:
Respect his wishes, he runs the place.
Not to mention rolling races prove nothing.

It is still against the law...that's like saying murder is not against the law unless you get caught. If you want to live in a civilized world, you need to abide by its laws. The same goes for this site. If you want to participate in this site, you need to abide by its rules.
Too many people have this mentality. They think the laws do not apply to them. They drive recklessly on public highways, speeding, cutting other drivers off, running red lights, making illegal u-turns...and that is only what I saw on my 15 minute drive home from work this morning. This type of thinking causes many people to lose their lives...what do you say to the mother of the kid you just killed while you were racing on the street?
 Sorry for the long post, this is just something that is just plain stupid. You are not only putting yourself at risk, you are putting innocent people at risk.
imshakn, im going too have to cut you down here that wasn't a long post :D talk to hawk he likes long post

It was longer :)
I cut out some of the stuff to make sure I got my point across. I hear that phrase a lot and it really gets to me because it implies that the person has no respect for the law, their neighbor, or anybody else. What they are doing is more important than what anybody else is doing...see...you're getting me started again:D

I was on my way to work a couple of weeks ago. I was on cruise doing about 68mph in the second to right lane of a 6 lane highway (I45). It was nice and dry. I began to overtake a blue Mustang GT in the slow lane next to me. Just as my front wheels got even with the rear wheel of the GT, it changed into my lane. I had to slam the brakes and steer away from the driver door of the GT. I lost control. I steered into the skid right then left then right and then my Mach did a 180 and I stopped staring directly into traffic. I had to start my stalled Mach and reverse it onto the breakdown lane. Then backup another 50 ft so I could exit I45 on an empty ON ramp. Not a scratch on the Mach but a lot of tire left on the road. If I had been going much faster, or if there had been anyone behind me racing... RIP.
your lucky you don't live ing mich, you would of been dead. not from spinning out and being in a accident. you would of been shot for going 68 :D

Usually traffic on I45 runs in the range of 55 - 120. Most of the time it's the ricers doing >100 in little packs. That night there were state troopers all over the place. None nearby to witness my spinout though.

Was the Mach controlling you or you controlling the Mach. How does it feel to be almost out of control? Just wondering how I sould react to my first tail spin, since rainy season is starting in Southern Calif.

It was scary. I thought the gig was up. I must have had a little karma on my side! It took a while to feel comfortable on the highway again and I still get paranoid when I pass slower cars. I started flashing my high beams when I approach a slower car.
