Problems so far

So far, I've encountered the following:

1. Passenger seat rub on door panel
2. A/C clunk when turning on and off
3. Throw out bearing squealing

Of course I haven't been able to bring myself to take it to the dealer to fix any of this stuff. I fixed the seat rub myself, the A/C thing doesn't really bother me, but the throw out bearing may be the one thing that I'll have to take in for.

AH, u just reminded me of another problem i have. Whenever i turn the a/c on and put it on the lowest setting, it doesnt even seem like its on. It blows almost NOTHING

Only thing I have noticed so far is the somewhat poor fitment of the body panels. Have not had complaints about the car as far known issues that others have posted.... yet.

TRMach1- How many miles do you have on your car? This throwout bearing problem seems to be very prevelant.

The knock associated with the AC could be the cannister bumping the firewall. Take a look. :cool:

I'm getting ready to turn over 6k miles (had the car since Dec. 3rd). Bearing has been squealing since around 4K.

forget about the throwout bearing..remove cover and spray white lithium grease directly to bearing only....every 99-04 squeals..my 00gt started at 20k...this prob is extremly common

I JUST developed the tranny 1-2 gear "THUNK" and had the lower front control arms replaced for a "crunch" and the shaker is beginning to rattle a bit. I have had the seat squeak since I bought it last Sept, but the seat is reclined a bit so it never touches the door. It was up one day last week, and I heard it. Put the seat back, and it went away. Easy fix. I also have had this problem since I bought it....a smell of hot rubber coming from the rear tires when I let off the clutch. The smell is usually accompanied by a loud screeching sound, followed by some other driver getting lost in a blueish haze. Normally this other driver gets very acquainted with my rear license plate, as this is all he can see from behind me. Is there a TSB for this???;) :D

Can you please elaborate on what you said. I believe I am showing signs of a throw out bearing makink noise. If I am in gear and going through a turn it begins to squeel. If I depress the clutch pedal the noise goes away.
