Well, this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday Im gonna pack up my bags and take the Mach from my home here in SoCal and drive to Kentucky, and then possibly all the way to Virginia, and then back to SoCal about 2 weeks later. Just going to visit friends for vacation, and I cannot bear to be without my baby. Im thinking that I might stop at every state border and get a picture of her parked in front of the state signs for every state I go through.
The only thing Im not looking forward to is the odometer when the trip is all said and done!

Hey bm1,
That would be cool. I did that one time when we were in college..but it was with a VW Bug and 4 other guys....man, what we did back then with only a few bucks... ...:thud:
I'd like to see the pics, take the laptop along and post them as you travel. Regarding the increase in the odo, just think about what everyone is saying....every thousand miles the engine gets that much stronger. Even Scott Hoag said that it won't reach its maximum power potential till it gets to 5k.....
"Hey dude, its roadtrip time..."

5k? Sweet!!! Ill hit that before I even leave town this morning.
Sadly I dont have a laptop to take with me. If I had the money to spend on a laptop though, I think I'd buy some equal length headers and a cat-back. Why spend it on a laptop when I can spend it on my baby??? Ill be hitting the road today at about noon. Should hit Kentucky by tommorrow night.
Ill see you guys later!

Well, about 4500 miles later I have returned from my road trip. I didnt take the pictures I intended to though. It was dark for the majority of my trip and way too cold for me. So..I didnt take the pics....sorry!
However, my baby performed great! The ride wasnt as uncomfortable as I expected. I love my car, but on a long trip like that I was concerned with how much Id be hurting along the way. But, she kept me warm, comfy, and cozy, and made the trip there and back without a single hiccup. And she drives pretty well on the ice too by the way! Brakes almost as well in ice and snow as she does on the warm california asphault.
Just my two bits about my otherwise uneventful trip to Kentucky and back. Ive had her 9 weeks and there are 9800 miles on the odo. That has to be some kind of a record right?
heheh...later gang.

The most exciting thing that happened on my trip was the SS that came up beside me on I-40 and taunted me slightly and then left me sitting there like I was in reverse. I was doing 80 as it was, and didnt want to push my luck...especially considering the SS in question had that crazy black and white color scheme and NEW MEXICO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL written on the side.
But yeah my mileage is moving rapidly....should catch you any time now.

Now that was funny!:p
The only "fun" I have had with my Mach1 was heading north on I75, coming back from a Lexington Mach1 meet.
There was this, I'd guess an '96 SVT.
He saw me coming up behind him, he dropped to a lower gear (I could tell, he had VERY nice sounding exhaust), I downshifted into 4th, and together we punched it.
I actually had to hit the brakes because when I was behind him, I out accelerated him.
We played for miles, he shrugged and gave me two thumbs up when he took an off ramp.
