I don't have that info Joel. I do know that you can get your build date by opening the glovebox, and squeezing the tads to drop the cover forward, and on the back of it you will find a sticker with the date the car was "built"

I am sure we will find out that info in time. I hope!:hehe:

I have some contacts at Ford, I have only had my Mach for a few weeks, I haven't tried to investigate this. I will make some calls and see what I can find. They should do like SVT does and send us all certificates that verify our build number....

Thats what I was thinking. Or at least have a tag with what # out of what # your car is.

Well, you know, I used to have a 1993 Limited Edition LX ragtop, one of the Canary Yellow cars. I wanted to know how rare mine was and contacted Mark Wilson, of the Ford Technical Research unit. He sent me a nice letter that told me my 'vert was #689 of 1503 built, and listed the number that were built with a 5-speed and a black interior and black top.

Here is the address on the letter, but please keep in mind, this is from August 9th, 1994. Mark Wilson might not even work in this department anymore!

The most accurate way to determine the build date of your Mach 1 is to go to any dealer's service department and ask them to run an Oasis report. The sticker on the back of my glove box does NOT have the same date as the Oasis report I had run, so I don't feel the sticker method is an accurate way to determine when the car was built.

How far off is the date of the sticker to the date indicated by the Oasis report Kerry? Just wondering. My dealer is a only a mile away, I might stop in today and have them run this report.

I don't recall the exact number of days, but it was about 4 or 5 days off.

I got my actual build date, it's 7/29/03. My sticker says 7/25/03, so you are right, that sticker is not an indicator of the actual build date.

What's the tag on your motor say "date" under one of the heads.
Just curious, my motor build date tag was the same as the production date "03 Cobra's" I read a while back about the collectivity stuff with the then up and comming MACH I. They learned a few things from the BULLITT, the holographic stickers on the drivers side shock tower, under the rear seat carpeting, and one still at the factory. The 1st time I detailed my engine bay I almost wiped off the # So.. they said the MACH I would be different and identifiable by the VIN number. Here's something to check on.... On the BULLITT I previously owned, there was a build sheet between the back bumper and the foam on the bumper. The build sheets had the time, date and codes for interior, trans, color etc. It was visible by the tape that held it in place on the steel bumper, then they put the painted bumper on top of it. Just a thought. Any MACH owners see this? The factory also put on the scat code tag on the bottom lip of the front and rear facia on the BULLITT and the 03 Cobras, "DHG BULLITT" and on my 03 The tag says "BLK TRMINTR" aka Terminator, Does The MACH have this too? Some folks may not care, but I am into such things.

I'll look at these things tomorrow James, I'm curious.
As far as identifying a Mach, we have the "R" code just like the Machs of old. You can't fake a Mach-1 to a collector; if it has no R in the VIN then it's not a Mach.

There really is no way to determine what the specific build number your Mach 1 may be in relation to the total number built because they weren't serialized in order. In other words, a car with a higher serialized VIN may have been built before a car with a lower serialized VIN number. Plus the fact that other models of Mustangs, GT, V6, Cobra, were being built interspersed on the line along with the Mach 1's

i found some factory checklist sheet in my car. I duno if it was suppose to be there or not. if u open the drivers door, it was like in that space between the underbody and the carpet, ill take a pic of it later.

The sticker date is the invoice date. Build date is about a week later.
