I know this may sound a little odd...but I think you're lucky. At least your dealer verified the tick and is going to fix it. Most dealers (mine included) will just refer you to the TSB where it says some ticking is normal in 32V motors. :thud:
GL man, I hope you get the car back soon!

The car sounds like it came with the POWERSTROKE option. They verified it on the spot because I thought maybe just maybe they would talk about that TSB.Im hoping for the best.Having a brand new car with problems really makes me ANGRY.Thank you for the sympathy.

yeah, I'm thinking of grabbing my service advisor and shoving his head into my engine compartment so he can "hear" the tick up close and personal. I know this sounds crude, and no, I'm not actually going to shove anyone's head in my engine compartment...just making a point.
I think a lot of business' have a cop out..."no, it's supposed to make that sound" or "it's supposed to look like that" and my fav; "it's supposed to be removable!"

Alot of dealerships brush stuff off because the warranty time doesnt pay.The dealership Ive dealt with since 1996 is pretty good. If they dont find a problem they have me point it out and they fix it.Plus they know Im a journeyman tech to so the BS is out of the way.Sometimes you have to shove there face in it though.Ive bought 3 cars from them and they do take care of me with any thing which is why I go back.

I feel for the guys with the engine Tick I am lucky to not have it. But if I did I know my dealer would fix it since they really take care of me when it comes to warranty stuff.

I have it to but Ford is still working on a fix ppl who have had the head replaced have had the tick return. The best suggestion I have heard is complain the more of us that do the better the chance Ford will figure this problem out sooner.

I don't have the tick, and I hope I never do, I asked my service dept. about the 04's and they told me, quote: Engines built after 9/17/03 should not have the problem. Dragpack mach, do you know the build date of your engine? :hrs:
