Hey All..been playing with the Predator performance tune..so far I'm really liking it!!! I don't know if I'm experiencing a better HP/T boost over the stock Mach as I have a K&N CAI...but so far the increase in performance is definately noticable.
Anyways, was crusing playing with the tune and how it is affecting performance when I came up next to a black Firebird WS6..ya know the ones with the huge hood scoops etc...anyway I took off at the light..and he paced me a bit, then tucked in behind me, then moved over to the side. I was like WTF..then it dawned on me...he was checking the Mach out :D He followed me for two miles....I got to a freeway on ramp..and decided to speed up a "little"....and test the Predator tune :D The WS6 decided he didn't want to follow anymore :( Man I would have loved to have the old Fremont Raceway back so I could have ran the Mach down the 1/4 mile....95 degree temps or not...the Predator tune is helping a lot!!!! :shft

That's usually the only view a WS6 has, isn't it? :p

Hey, Tach! Glad you're liking the Predator. I've heard mixed reviews on it so far. I'll let you know how my reflash went as soon as the ECM gets back to me. The Mach has been down since I left for LA. :(

Hey Jester, yeah let me know how your reflash goes!!! So far the Predator is so easy to use, you can basically throw away the manual...I have only downloaded the standard performance tune, and I too heard that it doesn't do much, but I was thinking that those that did it on the Registry were using it on a completely stock Mach. I was thinking that maybe witthe K&N..it's leaning things out a bit more...cause it definately is stronger!!!! I think your reflash is going to be better no doubt, but for simplicity and ease of returning the MCU back to stock for service, the Predator is hard to beat IMHO..
So when are you getting the MCU back? Dewd I can't wait to hear how it works!!!! :spinem: :spinem: :spinem:
BTW..off topic...I'll have your Weld Pro Star prices tomorrow :D

Hey Heathdude...ya know, I'm not sure? I heard that the WS6 was pretty fast? It was weird though..felt like I was being stalked...LOL..!!!! man I was itching to run...and the Predator tune was egging me on..but I resisted the urge..but when I got to the freeway on ramp...I let her rip :spinem: the WS6 wasn't having any though..... :( Man :shft I do miss our local Drag Strip....

Hey...now that you mention it, I'm thinkin' about hittin' the track with you guys. Man, I need a change of scenery...work has been a barrel of monkeys las couple weeks. A little horsepower fix might do the trick
was reading the rules....Whats the deal with pants?...what, you cant wear shorts if you're driving down the track? Is this enforced strickly?
Hey tach? Looks like the Georgia Seipel runs the drag show up at Sears Point now...just like fremont back in the '80s
show starts at 5:00p $20 entry...includes techfee?

thats what it looks like. I looked everywhere on there for tech info and saw none. Come on out Matt! Both you and Aaron can help me out, as I've never been to the track before.
I went once to Sac raceway and wanted to run but I was wearing shorts and they said "no way." So I wouldn't chance it.
I'm just hoping I can hit the 13's. That and I hope I don't snap an axle with the toyos.

I think you'll be ok with the toyos. The 28splines are stronger than most think...lay off the long burnouts and you'll release the energy with the colder tire. Take it easy out of the hole and then hammmer it.
Not sure how much regular pants will help in most scarey scenarios.

I'm really smitten with the idea. I get nostalgic about the drag strip sometimes. :) I've got a meeting tomorrow afternoon, but should be done by 3. That's about what time I would head up. I'll give you a buzz around 1:30-2
Gonna need a cooler of my favorite soda and a big bag of ice :D
