New to the forum here...I've been hanging out at the Registry for a few months now...hope to have as good a time here also. Have not done a single thing to my Mach except drive it, fuel it, change the oil, and wash it. No mods planned...i think I will keep it stock. I enjoy reading about what others have done as far as mods go...but I am satisfied to keep mine the way it is...I totally enjoy driving it...Ken.

Picked up my 2003 torch Red Mach 1 about 3 weeks ago. Planning on taking it to the track next week. I went to my local Ford dealer to buy an 03 Cobra, but fell in love with the Mach. This is my 7th Stang and by far the best.

I went shopping around the mach 1 registry store last night, and my christmas wish list went from 2 or 3 things to HUGE.

6days to go and counting! Ill be taking my explorer back to stock today, which should pass the time!

I bought my Mach from Brandon Ford in Tampa, Fl on September 26th. I've loved it every moment since. I'm located in East Tenn. Although I can't believe it, I have not seen one other Mach on the road yet. I'm going to keep mine completely stock - I like my cars that way.

Hello all, I just signed up a few minuets ago. Looks to be an interesting site here for the Mach 1 owners to visit.

I'm out of North Florida and I traded in a '99 Z-28 for my '03 Mach in early July. I have been enjoying having this modern day Factory Hot Rod as much as any of the late 60's and early 70's muscle cars I've owned. Saying that kinda gives my age away of being in the over 50 crowd.

I've made a few changes to the Mach, I started out thinking, "this car needs nothing" and really, it doesn't, but I'm one who likes to make, what I consider, improvements to the vehicles. I have begun to make some changes by adding Sparco Racing Wheels, Kumho Tires and a Pro-5.0 Shifter so far. Plans are numerous for more mods and I am still researching the suspension changes I plan to do next. I've about settled on the JBA linear Springs, 685/254lbs front/rear, BBK Camber Plates, MM or Steeda Panhard Bar, Steeda Bumpsteer Kit, X2 Balljoints, adjustable rear Swaybar and their Chrome Moly Strut Brace for phase I. I plan to go with Kenny Brown Subs, 6 point Roll Bar and the Steeda 5-link rear Suspension with weight jacker lower Control Arms and adjustable uppers for phase II. Any opinions or info with experiences of my choices so far would be appreciated.

Anyway, I hope all of you are enjoying your Machs as much as I am and I look forward to reading about yours and the stories y'all have to tell!

Well might as well jump on the newbie wagon.

I put my order in 21 Sept 02 and had to explain what the Mach was and how to order one. Well it came in about 2 months after I left for the Gulf...and sat there until I returned in June. I told them I wasn't interested any more and that I was more than happy with my 01 GT (it was running 13.40's @ 103). Well to make a long story longer, I went, looked at it, drove it, and that was all it took, spent 2 days stripping my GT of its exhaust, shifter, and stereo equipment. I put the Mach's cat- back on the GT and turned it in, I haven't looked back since, the Mach pulls loads harder than the GT did with its 4.10's:shft and is a lot more comfortable. I now have 3000 miles on it, its my daily driver. The wife said that I had to leave it stock outside the Bassini X pipe and Magnaflow cat back that I had on the GT, that lasted until she drove the Mach and said that the stock shifter had to go:D I put a Pro 5.0 in its place immediately. God, I love that woman! She tolerates my obsession with the car and going to the track. I started with a 13.6@104 with a 2.1 60' and now have a best of 13.10@107.43 with a 2.05 60'... that came after the istallation of the X-pipe, shifter, and pulled the rt headlight.
Now all I need is a set of D/R's and I'm in the 12's.
D.

Hi, I'm Matt & go by the same screen name on the Registry. I've had my Mach since August 15th. I had orginally planned on waiting for an 04 Comp. Orange, but found a good deal (or so I thought-it was just before the rebatest came out-who would have thought!) and picked up an Azure Blue 5 speed. This is my first Stang, and is my second vehicle. My daily driver is a 97 Ranger thats lowered & customized so I have a couple pretty cool rides :D The Mach is so much fun to drive, cruise, race, or just show it (I took 1st in my class this summer at our local SVTOA show). :bna I'm thrilled to have picked up such a great piece of automotive history. Can't wait till the 40th in Nashville-I'm in Memphis BTW.

If anyone wants to get together for a Memphis Mach 1 gathering, feel free to PM or email me ;)

I don't have any major plans for modifying the car. I'd like to tint the windows, get Flowmasters, along with an H-pipe, and a Steeda shifter and that would probably do it. I hope to hang on to this one till I'm old and gray-which is along time for me since I'm 24 :p

No plans for any mods at the moment. Go by the same screen name on the Registry as well as SVTPerformance, in case you really give a poop!!! Lets Party!! :bna

Hi all, my name is Greg and I bought my Mach from Kerry Ford in Springdale Ohio on 9-26-03 and am enjoying every chance I get to drive:bna I'm not a big race freak and this is my first true hotrod. Put in a K&N air filter and took out the snorkal thing-a-magig but other that I thought about exhaust changes, but I can't justifiy removing a perfectly good exhaust. I don't know if I'll ever go to the race track because it would be a new experience for me and I may make a fool of myself. Just some country road racing for fun in the past with a Camaro w/auto yrs ago. I guess I'll have to be a quick learner cause I know some CHUMP ricer is gonna challange me some someday :shft

I have been on Mach 1 Registry for a short time and learned of this site.
All I can say about My Mach is that I love to drive it.
I am probable alot older than most on this site (56) but the Mach remindes me of when I had a Road Runner in the days of real cars not the ricers some people thinks is a car. Heck ricers don't even sound like cars.
So from South Carolina, Hello!

Hey to all,
New to the site. From Georgia. Got an 03 TR a few months ago. Done a few of the inexpensive mods (K&N, removed snorkle and MAF screen, Flowmasters, bumper letters, antenna, mats, etc).
Always wanted a muscle car when I was a kid back in the 60's (pushing 53 now) but could never afford one. Have toyed with a variety of performance vehicles since then, but this is the first real "American Muscle" that I've found.
Only use it for pleasure trips and weekends. Hope to hold on to it for a long time. Will turn it over to one of my sons in 20 or 30 years. Hope they can pry the keys from the hand of my smiling corpse!

Greg@GLD
11-20-2003, 05:32 AM
I'm also a little older (40's) and used to own many 60's "musclecars", and remember well during the mid 1970's, thinking that never again would we see cars that could give you thrills, right from the factory. Things started to get better in the late 80's, but now... WOW. We have total packages that encompass all aspects of high performance, not just going fast in a straight line. The good old days are right now!!!

Magicfan, I'd be happy to show you how to abuse...I mean drive your Mach:shft It took me a few passes to get used to it, a little different than my GT. I think I've made 36 passes with it since Sept. The track moved Test and Tune from Thursday nights to Sunday afternoon, I made my 13.10 passes with an air temp of 69 degrees and sunny outside. The 107.43mph got my attention more than the time. First time out with just the cat back on, I was making 13.6-4's @104 and that was in 45 degree weather and spinning the tires to the 1/8 mile mark before she'd hook up. I can't wait to see what she'll do with some D/R's. I'm going to recruiters school in March, hoping to put some Bassinin mid length headers on while I'm there. My immediate plans are to put my stereo in the Mach.

Well, I just found this site via Stangnet.com where I post regularly. I had a white 02 GT which I recently traded in for a Black 03 Mach 1. Im VERY happy so far I must say. Im always looking for tips, and plan on doing every mod that I can afford to do with performance and speed in mind. I dont plan on changing anything on the outside of the car, with the exception of replacing the headlights with the black ones, and the window tinting that Ive already done.

So...how many ladies out there are driving around in Mach 1's?

hehe...had to throw that in there.

Nice to meet you all, and I can be found on StangNet under the same name.

Hi all,
Craiger and Tam here from Lutz, FL. via Chicago. Have enjoyed and raced EFI stangs sence 1986. Ran a 88GT for 7 years, had alot of fun. Our intrest in the hobby was rekindeled in July with the purchase of our 03 Redfire Cobra that we have begun modding, to the point that Tam had to get a stang of her own again, so we traded the mommy ride explorer in on our 8th new stang a 03 Zinc Yellow Mach 1 with a deal we could not refuse about 3 weeks ago, have installed a K&N drop in for now and will be racing both cars this Jan. 10th at Bradenton Motorsports park... Although we have always had a stang around the last 17 years we have not been into it like we are now sence we sold the 88 in 1995. Check out our home page and photo gallery. This is a very cool site and has mature type posters that most of the other forums seem to lack...  :hrs:

I am a new member to the boards from the midwest. I just purchased my 2003 Azure Blue Mach 1 Auto two days ago. I traded my 99 Lightning for it. Stock for stock I feel the Mach 1 is about as fast if not faster than my lightning was stock. My future plans are to get it into the low 12's with some spray. I just ordered 4.10 gears, superchips micro tuner to raise my shift points, and a MAC x-pipe.

I am also new to this site from SF California. I traded my 2001 Camaro SS for this Black Mach1 and I have no regrets. My SS was no doubt faster as the way my Mach is right now but that will change:)

My mods so far are just K&N filter and flowmasters turned down. Next week I have a off road x-pipe arriving. I may also add some 4.10 gears.

look out of state, seems the further south and west you go, the better the deals, hell you could probably have it transported to your house from wherever and still save $$$. Or, you could fly out to wherever and drive home and still save $$$. Where are you from? I wouldn't pay msrp, hell no!!! you'll regret paying msrp like many of the countless others here who paid msrp or more for their '03's. Look harder and further outside from where you are, there are deals aplently across the US.
