I have given up on my dealership, and am looking for some outside help with my Mach 1. Anyone here a Ford Rep?

What problem are you having Donna?

I thought most here visited the registry, but here is the story ...

Since the day I got the Mach (Sept 17), I've been fighting with Ford about the acid rain on the car. The car was DT'd in from another dealer, I bought it at night, the acid rain was noticed hte next day. After all was said & done, they tried an acid rain treatment from Ford, and determined it had eaten thru the clearcoat to the paint. It seems many of the cars produced in June are having this same problem, like they may have come out of Detroit that way.

So, they said they would only paint the hood, top, deck lid, and blend the fenders. I still wasn't happy. If they are going to de-value my car so that 2 years down the line it fades & doesn't match, they had better rethink that. So ... I told the Service Manager to please check on the buyback process and the trade assist program, or, paint the whole car.

Today, the Ford rep comes, with no warning. I hadn't washed the car down or anything. He & the service mgr look at the car, and pull it in the garage. Here's the conclusion.

They will not trade assist, or buy back, because I had "modified" the car. I looked at the service manager kind of funny, like, what do you mean? (You see in my sig what I've done). He says "you added those hood stripes & that hood scoop". I looked at him, and said "I haven't done anything of the sort" and he argued with me about it. I was fuming. Then he said they would paint only the top & deck lid. He was referring to the stock shaker & hood stripe that come on the Mach ...

I called Ford Corporate. They told me that they couldn't overturn what the Ford rep said, but she would call the service manager and see what he had to say. I approached my GM and VP, and all they said was that they would talk to the service manager about it. Me working there sure isn't helping the situation!

Well, its gets more twisted. It seems all that valuable info came from the service manager himself, not the Ford rep (or so says the Svc Manager). After I talk to the GM & VP, the Svc Mgr came up to me and tossed the Ford form at me that evidentally came down to him from my call to Ford Corporate and he got all mean with me. He said "I thought I was treating you with exception, and if you had a problem with me, you should have come to me". I replied that when we did talk, he accused me of modifying the car. He said "I was just asking about that because I am not aware that they came like that (with much doubt in still in his voice)" I said 'you didn't ask, you argued with me about it'. He said, 'well, the offer stands, if you wants those specific surfaces painted, let me know' and walked out.

So here I am, working at a dealership that has no repoire for their customers/employees, and I am stuck with a car that the acid rain has eaten through the clearcoat. The dealership is family run, and very stingy. I'm afraid I'm going to end up losing my job.

I am REALLY frustrated, and don't know what else to do. Like I just cut a hole in my hood, and didn't get the hood painted to fix the acid rain while I was at it?? And how did the service manager not know the car came looking like that??? Even if Ford does concede, I will not do business, service or otherwise, ever again with this dealer after this.

Does anyone here have any place they can direct me? Ford Corporate couldn't help, and obviously, my dealership isn't going to help.

Thanks for any info,
Donna

warranty is the chioce of the dealer to decline or approve
the 1 800 ford number will tell you that . it seems like your
own dealer that you worked at would help you but it seems
like they are NOT!!!!
