I was just at the reg.
Another thread about the GTO - this based on a NEW article.
Dave (reg founder) comes on and posts an off topic.
We ignore it.
He comes on again and says this is a mach forum - that this thread has been discussed 3 times already, blah blah. . .
Though I love Dave for creating/maintaining the mach 1 reg, I'm not sure why this one's bugging him so much. Everyone knows most people only check the first page or two of any forum. If you don't post anew, no one will see it, search feature or not.
Just the nature of the boards.
I'm sure you'll see this Dave, and I mean no ill will.

I have always felt that Internet Forums follow their creators....:D ..and some creators are like some cars..better than others....

What can I say I tried that other forum and I like this one much better. I have receiced a lot of help with my mods and people are really friendly here.

If you have a problem with the Registry, you should probably keep it there.
Its kind of a childish game to run from one group to another and talk bad about the other. If I have a problem with one of my friends, I don't run to my other buddies and talk smack about them.
Its kinda sad actually....especially since most of you guys are probably more than twice my age

I enjoy both sites, and feel they each offer, good, enticing comentary. I think the registry is getting killed with double, triple, quad posts on the same topic which is eating up Dave's bandwidth, not to mention money. I understand the complications and time consumption caused from maintaining a web site and seriously doubt Dave means to offend anyone, but instead, he is probably just trying to get a point across. Maybe by changing the subject heading might suggest a new topic on a similiar post? I don't know, just my 2 cents...

YES, you are absolutely correct. (BigRed)
Thank You (jlang) - You got it, people don't use the search or look for related topics already, we have tons of duplicate posts, I try (the best I can) to merge or combine same topics, or try and not let too many get off topic...

It's a shame you can't ASK me personally why I posted it or anything about it instead of BAD MOUTHING the registry in a PUBLIC forum on another site....
Geesh, you guys can't even take a joke?!!!

Yeah, but it's so much fun! :D
I like both forums a lot!
Many thanks to the owners!

Dave, don't take things so personally... If you read what 03MUSL said, it was mostly complementary to you. Relax man...
It comes with the territory.
We do want to make it clear- these sites are here for your enjoyment folks, and it's not a competition to see who's better. It's all about choices. Dave and me are on friendly terms and so are our sites, let's keep it that way. ;)

Hey Red, very good observation..however...things are not always what they might appear to be :D People definately do have their reasons...and some of those reasons are not for public consumption..but no matter, one must look beyond the obvious..as Obi Wan Kenobi once said.....
The ORG and the reg are both good places to get lots of information!!! I have met a lot of members of both sites and they are just plain kewl people!!! 03 MUSCL is a very kewl dewd indeed.....as are all of the people I have met from both sites!!! Fine bunch of enthusisasts!!!
Do not be so harsh to condemn based upon what you might think is obvious, because the underlying problems are not so ovbvious... :D Have fun here or there..enjoy..good places to be for us Mach 1 nutz!!!

I wasn't condeming anyone....I was merely stating that, regardless of the problem, there is no need to drag other people into the mess. It just seems like people are just trying to cause problems. This isn't a competition, we all love our cars
If you have a problem with Dave, the Reg, or whatever....post a message there. I'm sure Greg wouldn't appreciate it if I went on the Reg and bitched about this site.

No sir, I would not. It's happened several times already. :D
When we first launched this, it was "You guys copied Dave!"
Then it was "They don't have any members over there" followed by "That Street Racing Nazi over there on .org won't less us talk about our "kills"
You won't please them all, so...

I am registered on both sites and they both are great for us all. My hat is off to both founders and to the moderators that have to put up with us. Yes feathers will be ruffled but that doesn't happen until someone tries to cause a problem or slam someone.
Founders and moderators stand your guns. Both sites have rules to keep the forums healthy and informative.

Both are excellent sources of information and both have their own unique personalities. That's why I visit both sites at the same time.
Dave - just got my 400th post over on your boards - something to the tune of "400th post and still no Mach - LOL"
Keep up the excellent work on both the reg and the org guys

Dave, did I actually bad mouth the reg in a public forum?
I love the reg. I thought I said that.
I see now that the blah blah part was uncalled for - I only meant it as a form of shortening the post, but in it's written form it is ugly. I apologize.
And I will post (on your site) asking why that thread bugged you so much. I actually felt that would be in bad taste at the time, but I see your point.
I visit both sites regularly too, and know both founders visit the other site as well, which is another reason I didn't feel like I was 'talking smack' or 'badmouthing' or 'hiding'. I obviously knew you'd read it, Dave, but again, I felt my slightly critical question was inappropriate for your own site.
I was genuinely curious - I've never seen an angry off topic from you before, and it sure didn't seem like you were joking. If you truly were, then I feel stupid.
:allhail:
And BigRed, I'm tempted to return the insults. It's really great being called sad by a teenager.
But Will is a great name and so is BigRed, so I'll assume you just fired off without really reading it.
You need to read the post again, you young whippersnapper.
And I'm not old enough to be your father, BTW.
So let's continue this at the reg, shall we?

my post wasn't directed solely at you. we all know this isn't the first topic the is being "critical" of the Reg...it just happened to follow your post...and well use you as an example. I'm sorry if you were offended.

Hey guys let me be the first to say thank you to both founders for the countless hours, attention to detail, and monetary contributions they have both made to providing us with such entertaining forums. And somewhere between there real and on-line lives they find the time to answer me and help me with anything I ask for. Thank you both and to everyone who makes these sites possible. They are the real reason I decided to buy this car instead of waiting for the 06 cobra. As for the public forum question I would reccomend the private messaging systems to address specific problems people have with specific people. This usually gets you the quickest answer and allows for less embarassment for everyone. Either way thats what they are there for so please use them.
Thanks
Roger
