I got Bassani midlength headers, an O/R X-pipe, the silencer removed and a K&N air filter installed. I also had it dyno'd before and after. It came in at 259 rwhp with 285 torque before and 287 rwhp with 306 torque afterwards. I noted that I've seen stock machs dyno'ing at around 275 rwhp and one got 284. He said he uses the SAE rating, it may be the others are using the Standard rating which runs a bit higher. Does anyone have any input?

Well... I wasn't that crazy about my stock numbers, I was at 263/293.

Maybe what you need, in order to get the most out of those mods, is a chip burned to match the newfound airflow?

Yeah, I was thinking of that when I bring it back. He wants to check things out in a couple weeks to make sure everything is still tight.

Would be interesting to see if that would help the situation.
Getting your timing curve altered would probably help those headers and h-pipe work better...

those numbers do seem low add some underdrive pulleys and php air induction kit with those bassani headers and a bassani x-pipe you should be where im at, with 320 rwhp and 331 rwtrq.

But i have had my car tuned by PAULS HIGH PERFORMANCE

A good tuner is hard to find Paul is the BEST, He can burn you a chip

Let me know if I can help

Keep at it

Hey Brian,
I almost got a cold air induction kit, but then I got sentimental when I found out the shaker would be bypassed. Even though it is restrictive, I couldn't render it useless. I was at the speedshop today and asked by dynotuning it. He said he would have to burn me a new chip, that would be around $750. Then the Spock side of me said you're already pretty darn fast. Besides, the insurance would kill me if I ever got hit with tickets! The speed shop I use is P&J Speed Shop, John McKowan in North Tonawanda, NY. He's pretty well known in Mustang circles... 5.0 Mustang, MM&FF, etc. Thanks alot for the input Brian.

i am surprised your complianing about 28 HP w/exhaust

seems good to me the butt meter should feel that .

dyno s all read different to really compare you should dyno all

cars on the same one right .. basically the baseline is

what you want to know to see if there was an improvement

RIGHT

28HP i think that is great

Jeff,
I'm not complaining about the hp gain, I was pretty happy about that. I was concerned with the stock run. The speed shop had another mach1 they dyno'd, it got 266 rwhp. I also saw a dyno on the Registry that got 261 rwhp on a Dynojet. So, I guess I should be OK with that. Like you said, dynos vary.

your not bypassing the shaker with PHPs air induction
