I finally got my CO automatic this past Thurs. Man does this thing fly!:D My friend who owns an LS6 Chevelle was impressed! I test drove a 5-spd and it seems like the auto pulls better out of the hole. My friend thinks the car is running mid 13's right now with 100 miles on it;) , but he is a chevy guy so what would he know about fast?

An LS6 Chevelle is plenty fast. I think that the fact that he said you were fast is a comliment. Probably along the lines of..."my car wasn't this fast stock".

He gives credit where credit is due. His brother,on the other hand, didn't even acknowledge. I think I'll challenge him and his '67 chevelle 427 to a little grudge match.

With minor mods you will run mid to low 13's..Stock prolly high 13's
Atleast that's how my 04 Auto has performed..

Best of luck

Sounds good - also it always good to hear things from the automatic owners - I rarely hear anything bad about the auto except the governed top speed - goodluck man - also I'd break it in first before you race him.

Thanks much for the support. Having street raced with my '88 5.0 I've been known to kick some BBC a$$! Really pleased with the Mach, sure does run good. I had to get the auto so the warden I mean wife could drive it!

If you are planning on running your auto hard get a tranny cooler for it.

I believe that the Mach 1 automatic cars come with a factory transmission cooler... ;)

Yah that damn speed limiter bit me in the a$$ a few weeks back at the track. I had my chip retuned and they only moved my speed limiter to 122mph for some reason. Guess what...my trap speeds show 122mph. The car would of went low 11s if it wasn't for that :( However, it prolly saved my motor cuase I also ran out of gear...and would of ran out of rpm too. When I get back from Italy in a few weeks I'm gonna bolt up a set of 28" tall tires and go for the gold.

With 4.30s and Nitto drag radails the car would bog out of the hole (on the street)...once the car hit 3200rpm then they would start to spin a little. When I added the boost it was almost the same story...no spin out of the hole...once i hit 3200rpm they went up in smoke. After adding the 3200rpm stall converter I can spin them at will from a dead dig. Much, Much easier to launch the car on the street now. I have more control over the tire spin. With the stock converter it was hard to hook the car up cuase I had no spin under 3200 and lots above 3200...if i modulated the gas the car would fall below the 3200 and bog the car.

Moral of the story...get a converter if you have an auto.
